How do you take money to Europe?

We have not been to Europe for holidays for quite a few years now, but next year could very well be the year.  In years gone by, it was always travellers cheques and a small amount of cash.  These days, it appears that prepaid cards seem to be the way to
go.

What do you use, and what do you find is the best value for money?
