Smart tv for browsing the web

can anone tell me if they have got a smart tv to work on club wifi?

My tv packed in at the weekend and the guy in the caravan next door told me he had a smart tv for getting on the web etc connected to the air angel wifi. I purchased one but could not connect so not sure if he knew what he was talking about. It recognises
the caravan club internet but thats as far as it goes.has anyone tried this?it would save me taking a laptop if it works.
