Toll Charges/Ferry Fees and Outfit Weight/Length
Hello all. My wife and I will be taking early retirement at the end of this year and are planning on buying a caravan to tour around the UK but also plan on taking some longish trips around continental Europe - Croatia will for example be a target destination.
We are currently at the stage of deciding what caravan to buy and what to tow it with. As early retirees we want to ensure that we can tour in a resonably economic way and thus we want to ensure that we dont end up with an outfit that incurs excessively
large toll charges or ferry fees just because its a few cm too long or a few kg too heavy. Having lurked on this forum for a while I have seen reference to vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes incurring high toll fees in some countries however I am uncertain
if this relates just to motorhomes ?
So I guess to cut to the chase are there broadly any weight / length limits that we should be thinking about ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Ian
