you could get one of those extending 'watering hoses' which are used for hanging baskets etc, and just have a blast about in the general area.....should do the trick.

from time to time i just get the ladder out, against the side of the van and use a conventional hose or bucket and sponge...

I have a customer who fits solar panels ,and he tells me that only soap and water is needed to clean them ,not washing up liquid ( to much salt in it) car shampoo , and there is nothing you can " treat" them with , he tells me that there are some products
on the market to "treat" them but are just a rip off , I'm not saying he is right ,but just what he tells me Happy

DD, no worries....i didn't know of any specific treatment to keep it clean....although i do have a bottle of RainX whichnas supposed to keep windscreens clear without wipers....could try that, i guess.

one thing i do know, a panel works far better clean, than covered in that sahara dust you mention.

even a ling handled brush to clear this, or leaves, will make a difference to output.

Just good old fashioned elbow grease I suspect! if done as a regular regime shouldn't be too much of an issue at all!
