    With the original digital panel  of the 3010 all the control values and the schedule other than the "clock" setting, seem to be retained without battery support. So it seems adding battery back up only keeps the time. 

    If that fails through a depleted battery it is a 30 seconds reset job. IMO I would expect the battery to last a year or be a pretty pointless addition.

    We have the 3010, on it there are 2 ways of having "battery back up"......a battery pack or a direct connection to the leisure battery.

    We have the direct connection, and keep the battery topped up, so it never fails.......well, not until the electrician at the servicing dealer somehow manages to disconnect it.
