Effects of Low Mains Voltage

Away this weekend at a Club Site from Thursday to Monday in our Xplore 304. Site was sparsley filled on Thusday but full from friday night/Saturday morning. About 10:00 Saturday the fridge sounded it's alarm on mains. Instruction manual said combination of lights and noise suggested low voltage. Changed to gas and it was fine for rest of trip. Other users had same issue with fridge, one saying it was a regular problem every time he visited.

Also had problem with Whale warm air heating - basically would only work on max thermostat setting and even then cut out at 19 degrees C (same whether on gas or eletric). At one point in small hours of Sunday the red 'alarm' light on heating controls came on - flash frequency was code for low voltage. Although the dial for temperature is on caravan wall the control electronics are under bay window seating/bed.

Caravan is now on my drive at home connected to house mains. Tested heating and seems to perform normally from Frost setting (came on on position 2 this morn when temperature in 'van was 7C). Intermediate settings up to position 12 gave a reasonable 'gradient' consistent with a thermostat operating to spec.

Could low mains volts cause the thermostat to malfunction?
