Need to tell insurer ref towbar

Hi, we are new to Caravanning, I was reading on our local group site about a member whose insurance was invalid as they had not told their car insurer that they had a tow bar fitted! There was a tow bar fitted to my car when I bought it (6 months old) I
must admit I have been asked at insurance renewal if there were any modifications to the car and always replied no for the last 3 years. as I guess I didn't really think about the tow bar being a modification, anyway I rang my insurer today and yes I should
have told them, all sorted now, no charge and no change to paperwork needed, just thought I would flag this up - however I am blonde, so maybe everyone else is aware and I was just being a bit Ditsy!
