Road trip thro Central Australia . . part 2

We pulled out of Mataranka, heading a day's drive north to Katherine, a big town with a series of gorges east of town. We hired two-man kayaks to canoe up the gorge three or four miles. We could have taken the lazy way and jumped on a tour boat, but prefer
to do it the hard way . . . . the canoes were about 10 Pounds hire a day ..

Next day, we travelled north for about half a day, going off the main highway to see Edith Falls

 . . . a walk thro the bush and we get to the falls, a beautiful waterfall cascades into the lake in the "wet" season. This is the "dry" so no waterfall . . .

We climbed up above the falls to see the swimming area . . . .
