Reading peoples' experiences in Italy, with gangs of pick pockets stealing wallets, and so on.

I took a picture of my passport, my Australian driver's licence, my electricity account, my Medicare card, my Mastercard.

If these disappear, I can retrieve images of them all because I emailed photos of them to myself.

If I get pick pocketed and lose my wallet with everything, I can give the bank the numbers on the cards, the Embassy my passport number, and so on.

It helps to get renewals really quickly.
