Anyone been on a Summer Rally to France or Spain?
We love rallies.
We enjoy the company of other English speaking people, not because we dislike other Europeans, but our French / German / Spanish just isn't good enough to engage in a conversation at a reasonable level. We'd be fish out of water among a crowd of German speaking or Dutch speaking people. Also, there seems to be a special bond between UK people and people from Australia and New Zealand in ancestry and cultural values . . . similar humour, ability to understand each other well, etc..
So . . . . how was the rally? Good sites chosen, or just mediocre? How did you get on with the other "grey nomads" tagging along at the rally?
Was everybody in "holiday mode" like the rallies back home and willing to mix and be sociable with newcomers?
