Scared for the future of mankind!

Having visited the life centre (science centre) in Newcastle at the weekend, it truely scares me at how poor many people's basic science is (that's not to say I hold myself in high regard, I don't, but I do consider myself of a scientific background).

My concern is the massive amount of psudoscience,  general quackary and outright unscientific nonsense that is passed off a fact on social media with thousands and million's of likes and comments that support
them, and woe betide anyone who posts a rational and scientific rebuttal! They are almost the new cults, the new religions

Many are dressed up so well, it is not suprising people believe them to be true, but many have potential negative and even deadly consequences.

Why are people all quick to ignore science, which has put us where we are today?
