Discovery? Not paid sufficent attention before?

I have just written a couple of reviews and found, to my amazement that the little red lines appear under wrongly spelt words
.  Is this a spellchecker?  I can't say that I have noticed this before so is it one of the promised improvements?? Or more likely
I didn't pay attention on writing previous reviews??
