Hello Can anyone give some feedback on the pitches size for Campi du Domains South of France. Their Web site looks great. However we have an 8 meter twin-axles caravan with full awning + car to fit onto pitch. Camp site suggest zone 6 which has water, electric, drainage. But first hand from members who actually stay here would be most helpful (considering  September 2017)

Ta very much Bob

Bob, I presume you mean the one at Bormes les Mimosas on the Cote d'Azur.  There are lots of reviews

    here:
(click for link), and the ACSI website quotes the site as being suitable for units over 5.5 metres (some campsites are classed as being suitable for less length!).  I hope this helps.

The one thing I would say is that in September it's unlikely to be full, and you should have a choice of pitches without needing to book!  Indeed some sites may be very quiet indeed, though perhaps not those on the Cote d'Azur.  We holiday every year at
this time of year, and have never ever needed to book a pitch anywhere we've wanted to stay.  If you don't book, and you find when you arrive at the site, that you don't like it, there are plenty more sites in the area.

The reviews on the ACSI website give an average score of 7.5 - which in my eyes would only just be acceptable.  We tend to go for sites with review scores over 8 and also tend not to go for such large sites as Du Domaine.

Thanks Val..... for the information update..... the reason for the request.... its been a few years (10) since we have visited the area. and then found most pitches very very small at campsites, and offten far from the sea with little parking space near
beaches. The beach pitches look great at Camp du Domain.... but will we fit on... perhaps  some one who stayed could give me some insight. Camp du Domain web site give an eye opening 360 view point.

    Once again thanks

    regards Bob

Bob, we have day visited friends there but were never tempted to stop - but that was in mid summer when the place was full. I think there are nearly 1200 touring pitches and probably a lot more statics these days too  - and in summer we could only have got a pitch at the top of the site, a day's march from the beach - a small beach too for all those people.

But things will be much better in September, so go and look, see what you think. It wasn't our cup of tea at all but I met other British visitors who went there  year after year without fail. So it's horses for courses and you always have the options of moving on to other places.

We ourselves often made for Cavalaire, but more recently have discovered the coast between Carry Le Rouet and Carro - and that's worth a look too. Location, location for us, rather than picking a campsite. Cheers.

Thanks Eurotraveller we done most of the coast from Carvalaire-Mer to Nice over the years, but the clog up roads and small pitches kind of put us off. (10 years ago) Since retirement we have
been doing the Dordogne and Cap D’ Adge area out of seasons in June or September but would like to do one more trip to the Col Azure. Before we become unfit to travel so far. We normally do a six week tour, so we are flex able just need a good size pitch to
park the twin axle 8 meter caravan + a full awning that walking distant to a good beach if we are near to an airport always some member of the family that will fly out. That’s what grand parents do (give freebie hols)I
But perhaps you know ? of a campsite that meets this request + a good size pool in this area (we all live in hope)

    Regards Bob

Bob, let me be really rash and suggest a campsite we haven't been to - just on the basis of photos and reviews.

If you don't like Camp du Domaine then back track inland and have a look at Camping Felix de la Bastide near  Martigues. But it's on the lagoon not the Med itself, and 20 minutes from the sea.

    Fingers crossed for you !

Camp du Domaine is beautiful with wide variety of pitches but maybe large vehicles wont fit on beach pitches. We were there Sept last year, was quite busy with Germans and Swiss families but still lots of space.

    Hi eurotraveller,

You say you haven't been there so l am curious as to why you would recommend it?

l have looked on the web site but you seem to imply that it's something rather special?

    Curious Mrs Murdy.
