Small gas ring not working on hob

On  our Thetford Gas  Hob the small ring has stopped working .  We can fire it up but once the contol knob is released it goes out ?

Also, Sanyo microwave has stopped working . The only info I can give is that the clock is flashing all the time and might have someting to do with the problem .

    How long did you hold the knob in?

    One of our rings is very tricky to get going, frequently takes 3 or 4 attempts and needs the knob held in for quite a long time.

    Do you have the instructions for the microwave?  If so does it say what the clock flashing means?

    If no instructions, you may find some on the www.

    If dud and you need to replace, measure up the space and find one that will fit, mega expensive to order from Swift via dealer.

    I think your need a new thermo coupling

    Or very often, the thermocouple connection at the gas tap end just needs tightening. (It is an electrical connection for the tiny current generated by the thermocouple - you are not interfering with gas in any way).

    I would say therom coupling!  You may find something on the web regarding your microwave
