Zip problems

I have a Dorema Senator Lux 1005cm it's about 5 years old. We are now having problems with the zips on the front panels. They are difficult to engage and when they do they open up behind the slider so it's impossible to close them. When they are closed the
zip is raised in a ridge wheres the side panel zips are totally smooth. Any advice?
