Extended towball and nose weight

So... I have a Bailey pegasus 546 and the towball limit of my car is 75kg which is very hard to get with this van, i see you can get an extended towball for alko hitches - with it being a bit higher off the ground am i right in thinking this will reduce
the nose weight?
Also using the nose weight gauge - do you try and put it on wood etc to get it to a height that is the same as when it's on the towball?
One more... rear shocks... if they are worn and then replaced you should notice a difference when towing? i presume you'll feel less slop? just mine were on the way out last season, just had em replaced and hoping to feel a difference.
