The Thetford frig in my caravan which is only 2 years old indicates that it is working when first connected to my car but  cuts out when towing. The caravan dealer says the frig is OK, and the towing specialist has checked my car and says this if OK. Anyone had a similar prpoblem?

How do you know it cuts out?

Sounds familiar. I have a Lunar Quasar and had no electrical supply when under tow. Dealer not interested in finding the fault so in desparation, I contacted a local independent and had the work done there. Two problems were identified; 1, the 12 v circuit
breaker and 2, no earth return feed. The earth problem was traced to a burnt out control panel printed circuit board which has now been replaced. Joy, we have a working fridge. So have the PCB checked to see if it is arcing and burning out. I warn you though,
a new PCB is not cheap but definitely cheaper than a new control panel.

Going to the NEC next week so I'll attempt to collar the Thetford MD about their poor customer service.

It has been mentioned on here before but in the past there was an indicator LED on the fridge to show that it was powered up when the car was hitched with engine running. All part of cost saving I suppose, but I will check out how I can fit one.
