Route Napoleon towing Southwards

We tried the A51 towing South from Grenoble to Sisteron following advice from Club members and it was wonderful!  Now we are thinking of trying the old Route Napoleon with our new much smaller caravan and would welcome comments on advisability of doing this,
particularly re the hairpins we've looked at south of La Mure & on entering Gap + an odd section between Corps and St Bonnet which Via Michelin warns is 'dangerous' - in what way does anyone know?
