Squeaky side dinette table

Other than maybe a spray with WD40, can anybody suggest a method to stop our side dinette table from squeaking?
It's worse when leaned on from one side than the other, but certainly still has squeakage from both sides.
Removing elbows from the table aside, even cutting through food such as steak is causing the table to sqeak.
Suggestions gratefully welcomed.
