Travelling in France

Hi Could anyone give the the facts about French motoring law. we are thinking about going to France next year with our Motorhome it is a 2 berth so only have seatbelts for 2 but we have a lapbelt fitted for our son to travel with us but we are wondering
if it will be ok with French road law or does he need a proper over the shoulder seat belt. Any help would be great Thanks
