For a few years now our last trip of the year has been to some Christmas event, assuming there is a suitable campsite nearby. So we have visited Chatsworth (several times), Longleat and last year Warwick. I noticed, I think in the Club Magazine, that for the first time Bladon Chains would open later to allow members the…
In these dark days before Christmas, it's comforting to look at some photos from the Summer. And so, here's a few taken on our days by the seaside on our late-summer seaside trip to France. Our first stop was Camping Sainte Claire at Neufchatel en Bray: this was the only site which we booked. We met up with chums Jeanne…
After tenting for 30 years plus and caravanning for 14 years, in March of this year we switched to a Motor Home. One of the main reasons for this was that we wanted to be able to move around more rapidly and easily and be able to utilise the Aires network in Europe. Our first forays were more like our caravanning days,…
We left the Atlantic coast early on a Sunday morning to start our journey home. As we would be passing Nantes it seemed silly not stop for a quick city visit. Camping de Nantes has good reviews on Google and elsewhere so we phoned up on Saturday to make a reservation: it's a popular site and reception told us that they had…
Having decided to have a week away at the end of October, early November, we thought we had managed to avoid half term. It seems that some school authorities had other ideas with half term being different weeks depending on what area you live in. Fortunately it seems the Club didn’t know either as the fees at Seacroft did…
Just returned from our first trip south of Rome and on to Sicily, the following may have some interest in anyone thinking about their own trip that way. Friends who we were with fell prey to the gangs of pickpockets working the crowded buses. The queue at the Police Station to report similar crimes showed just how…
We took delivery of our new Caravan in May 2019, when we put the order in for the caravan to be made we was told earliest delivery date would be July but it came in May .Great news. We purchased it at a cost of £25195 from what we thought was was a good dealership. On our third weekend away in June my daughter noticed a…
If you think Off Grid Caravanning is somehow low brow, I invite you to read my experiences I have been caravanning since 1985. The journey has been full of joy, some downs, it has to be said, but generally I wouldn’t have changed a thing, Caravanning for me has given me and my family so many new and wonderful experiences.…
Arrived on Monday the 21/10/20, unfortunately only pitches available were near the road . This is not a minor road it’s a major route . The noise is Horrendous we moved pitch as one became available which is slightly quieter . Been here for three days when a Disgusting man in a motor home driving to fast instead of the…
Not really a story, but we wanted to try sharing a video. It's about crossing a very high bridge (68m) at St Nazaire. It may seem a bit boring, but at the time I was not looking forward to driving across. I never looked sideways, but the large cruise ships in the ship yard looked tiny! Hope this works!
