Hello We're getting our first caravan in a couple of weeks and need to get mirrors so wondered if anyone tows with a BMW X4 that could recommend which ones to go for. Thanks Helen
With my car being used far less at present I'm concerned that my battery will end up flat. At most the car is used for a four mile round trip to the shops no more than once per week and needs starting at least twice to do the trip. The short distance will not be enough to replace what the starter motor has used. It is many…
We are going away for a month to Spain and France and I have been thinking about buying a roof box to give us more luggage space. I was wondering can anybody tell me if having a roof box on the car will affect the performance of the car whilst towing the caravan? Thanks Ron Lloyd Caravaner Wirral
Hello We are thinking about buying a Honda CR-V 2015 2.2 diesel (not sure automatic or manual) to tow a 2006 Bailey series 5 provonce caravan. The salesman suggested that buying an automatic car would bring down the weight limit to tow. I have been on the car and caravan match but the 2.2 diesel are not listed. How would I…
I don't know why...but it appears the various Vehicle Inspection agencies throughout Europe have a delight in pulling me over to inspect my outfit. I mean its not as if we have old vehicles, or exceed the speed limits of the country. The tow car is 1yr old and the caravan is just 6 mnths old. The latest such inspection was…

The caravan is well within the Kia's towing ability, but going uphill the car nearly dies and pulling away on anything but a…
We own a 2005 2.2 diesel xtrail that now has 187,000 miles on the clock. We are looking at replacing it with a 2016/17 1.6 diesel xtrail. The torque and hp figures are similar. We own a 2005 lunar solaris 1 van. I know its slightly over the 85% recommended match, but as an experienced hgv driver I have never had any…
I have recently changed my Volvo V60 towcar from MY16 to a MY19 and today have found that due to the new 'angular' shape of the door mirrors that my Millenco Grande Aero mirrors do not fit as the gap at the top of the mirror glass and the plastic is too tight to slide the clamps in and the bottom of the mirror housing is…
The spare tyres on the car and caravan! I change my car tyres when approaching 2mm and my caravan tyres every five years. What about the tyres on my spare wheels? Both are kept fully inflated, have had no load and are stored out of the light. Should the seven year guidelines apply? Many thanks.
