I've just read the news that Gerry Marsden, of Gerry and The Pacemakers, has died at the age of 78 years after a short illness. Well known for his recording of You'll Never Walk Alone, amongst others during the 1960s Merseybeat scene.

The death of this English legend has just been announce, aged 83. One of the names that I remember from my youth, a great batsman and fine gentleman. He was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2000 but lived long past the seven years he was given at that time and died of natural causes at his home in Scotland. Good article about…

Sad to hear of the death of this very good football manager. Won lots of trophies managing an excellent Liverpool squad, but health problems cut short his managerial career, and now sadly his life at a rather early 73.
