Re: Recommendations for a small campervan
Two in my family (admittedly they are 26 and in love) travel and camp with no more than a secondhand VW Caddy van .
CAMC would allow them in if their tent were on the van roof but not if their tent were on the ground - and a warden would want to inspect to see if their cooking stove was fixed or freestanding. And do they have a bed or just a matttess? How stuffy and petty can this Club get? East Grinstead corsets really are laced too tightly .
Re: Hookpit Farm CL - Near Winchester
Hi everyone, Regarding the reviews on Club Together, I logged this as a request for future improvements when we launched the forum and a few members suggested this would be beneficial as it was previously a really useful way to identify new CL Sites. It's something that we're hoping to implement and a brilliant suggestion. I don't have a date yet but will keep you updated once I know more.

Re: What are you all up to
Good to hear that you are progressing well @DavidKlyne and hopefully it won't be too long before you are able to get home.
@KjellNN have a safe journey home.
Lovely photos @milliehull the church looks a most interesting one.
It is good to hear that the Pooch is better now that the weather has cooled down somewhat @Takethedogalong
@Wherenext very pleased to read that the gas system seems to be working now and you will be able to get away soon. It will still be interesting to hear what the dealer has to say or what they will do following your emails.
Hope that your next visit to hospital is the last one @Oneputt Enjoy your trips away.
@RedKite it is good that your OH was happy with his checkup and has been given a prescription to see him through during your trip to the UK.
Your dealer has come up trumps @richardandros which will put your mind at rest when the cradle is refitted and you can get away again.
Hello Everyone
Tour de France 2025
Good first day’s racing, but plenty of spills and large time differences already. Got to feel for poor Filippo Ganna (Ineos), first time back in Tde F for a couple of years and caught up in mayhem.
No spoilers on the day please, some of us do late evening catch ups!
It’s hard to look past Pogacar at the moment, but can only hope one or two of the other teams can come up with a plan to beat him. Personally, would love to see Fred Wright win a stage, and a breakaway for Gee would crown a glorious last year and career.
Re: What are you all up to
We’re on site doing nothing. An easy journey yesterday and initial setup. Then a few issues- first with power. I’m not sure what the problem/resolution was as OH sorted it. Much chuntering and fuse checking. Meanwhile I checked the various bottles were arranged artistically in the cupboard - whisky to the left and gin to the right . And wine chilling in the fridge.
The site is fairly full, but plenty of choice of pitches.

Re: What are you all up to
@milliehull - we too have someone similar to your recent retiree. A friend of MiL she still spends time at the local primary school taking reading lessons to 5&6 year olds and is part of the teaching group that looks after them when there is a school trip. She is in her 80s and still going strong. I think such people keep certain institutions going as staffing levels diminish.
Thought I'd pop into town to Boots Pharmacy to collect the balance of my prescription from Thursday. It was only a small bottle of tablets but the Pharmacist handed me not only those but a further months supply of half of my regular meds. "I've had this latest lot on Thursday" I said. "Well you must have ordered more" No, I didn't because I wouldn't just order half would I?" and so it went on until I gave in and accepted them as spares after making sure that the prescription that they're responsible for ordering was correct for next time. Why do some people find it hard to just say they, or someone in their company, has made a mistake? We all make mistakes from time to time. It's like admitting a weakness as opposed to a strength.
Washed the Van this afternoon. OH fed up with the weather not making its mind up. Sheets out on the line, then in, etc. Mixed bag of weather today.
Re: Tour de France 2025
been watching on and off today would be good to see Thomas win a stage on his last tour
Re: Wind out awning supply and fit.
Hi @KevinJordan. Like @richardandros, Ican thoroughly recommend Rose Awnings down in Poole. They supplied and fitted Thule windout awnings to our previous caravan as to our current one. Not sure where you are located, (we're in Tamworth), but we went down to a local site for a few days. We arrived on the Sunday, took the caravan in to John on the Monday when they fitted the brackets. (The brackets needed time to bond to the roof before he could fit the canopy tbe next day.). We then took the van back to the site overnight. On the Tuesday we went back for the canopy to be fitted.... job done.
David
