New to the Caravan world but not to the Camping world, we are converted Tent owners who have purchased our first unit this year and decided in our first outing to visit Cornwall from the NE, a location we have visited every year in our tent.

Hi @AndyP welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the world of caravanning! Have you been on your first trip yet or is this an upcoming trip? Would love to hear all about how you get on. We have some great advice pages on the Club website and feel free to ask any questions you may have here on Club Together. 🙂

There a few regulars on here who either live in Cornwall or caravan there so if you need any advice about routes and/or campsites feel free to ask. Hope your first trip goes well. Good to see you are staying local for the first one.🤣

If any other advice needed feel free to ask on here.

It was our first trip out and towing a 7.3 metre box all the way down was interesting, for some reason the trip home was a bit more hard work. We stayed at the View @ Watergate bay, which is a nice small site with fantastic views across the bay (hint is in the title). The wind coming off the sea and over the cliffs is interesting and gave our Dorema Awning a good run for its money.

Hello and welcome. Glad you've enjoyed your first trip away. Never towed myself, but well done.

As you say wind is 'interesting' 😉. Good job you are experienced campers.

Enjoy your next trip and do let us know how you're getting on.

Going away from Cornwall is always harder work. It’s all up hill - they don’t call it 'up country' for nothing!

You can’t beat our north Cornish coast for a bit of wind.
