Why stay here ...

Ashbury Caravan Park is a peaceful location that offers spectacular Dartmoor Views. Set next to our own pasture where horses, geese and goats graze. It is easily accessible from the main road, but retains a feeling of seclusion and tranquility.

A perfect place to break your journey on the way to Cornwall as well as an excellent base to make home, whilst exploring the surrounding area. Easily accessible from the A30 (Sourton turn off is only a 5 minute drive away) we are just off the A3079 Bude / Holsworthy road.

Fabulous walking and cycling (cycle hire available on the Granite way and the Tarka trail).

Just a quarter of a mile from Ashbury Golf Course where day passes are available to site residents only from £20.00 per day (club hire and buggies can be obtained at the Golf shop). Also a quarter of a mile from Lakeside course fishing and tennis courts. Local riding centres have both Dartmoor and bridleway riding, Watersports are on offer at Roadford reservoir and serious mountain bike terrain at Tavistock.

A few local attractions include Okehampton Castle, Lydford Gorge, Finch Foundry, Eastcott Vinyard and The Alpaca Park. The fascinating Castle Drogo with its beautiful gardens and riverside walks is just 25 minutes drive away. R.H.S Rosemoor is a similar distance.

Easy to find and convenient for Dartmoor attractions

It was easy to find this site, larger outfits would have to swing wide to get through the gate. It was a surprise to see the huge mobile phone mast but at least it ensured a very good phone signal. Hard standing pitches appreciated in the wet weather, EHU and... Show more

Lovely views

Great views, clean site, spacious pitches, slightly sloping crossways, owner very polite and welcoming, telecoms mast is close to first couple of pitches but doesn’t spoil views, didn’t use toilet or showers as they needed a good clean. Stayed three nights in august when storm Bertha was blowing a gale... Show more

Fabulous views, shame about the telecomms tower

Can't believe no other reviews mentioned the enormous telecomms tower at the entrance to the site. 2 of the 6 pitches are really very close to it, and all are within the usually-quoted 400m for safe habitation. I figured it wouldn't harm me for a few nights on... Show more

We enjoyed our stay over the festive period

We originally booked five nights but ended up staying for twelve, right through the Christmas and New Year period. The site was ideal for us as we wanted to walk over north Dartmoor. Access is easy even for large outfits. During our stay there were never more... Show more

Has amazing potential

As per the previous review we can confirm there were 6 vans on site and to be fair to the owner he did inform me of this prior to arriving. The site has the potential to be a contender for CL of the year. However, it definitely needs some TLC... Show more

Great ! and not so great

The views from this site are amazing and the site owner is a nice guy. We stayed here for 10 days recently (2021) - returning after last visiting 6 years ago. Sadly the site is not quite as it was, no bbq area (not that that bothered us) no cafe... Show more

Wonderful stay

We stayed here for 15 nights in our motorhome with our 3 dogs.Having water on the pitch is a great bonus. The toilets and shower were immaculate which was reassuring as we visited as soon as lockdown was eased. There is a useful paddock to let the dogs into morning... Show more

A warm welcome

We were warmly welcomed, and the site provided all we could ask in the way of facilities - I gather there were even loos and showers, although I didn't find them until we were leaving! But it was a delightful site, slightly "in the middle of nowhere" but not... Show more

Not just a Stopover

Excellent, well run CL. The Hardstanding pitches have sufficient room for car, caravan and awning and I disagree with a previous review stating that pitches are too close. They aren't and we've been on enough to know. The pitches have water and electric points but you have to drain the... Show more
