SatNav
Can anyone recommend a good sat nav/ tablet navigational app that helps with directions for a motorhome to various sites. We have been led down very narrow roads with our current version.

Take a look in the Parts & Accessories section where there are several discussions on sat navs.
Above all, don’t rely solely on the sat nav but always check your route on a map and apply common sense.

We,ve used Co Pilot satnav with a samsung galaxy tablet for years, all over Europe and UK. It's a one-time purchase with regular map updates. Although we no longer have a motorhome, we still use co pilot as our primary satnav in our car.
Hope this link works!

I can't comment on Co-Pilot because I have no experience of it - but since there are no databases of road widths - or narrow roads congested with street parking, for example - I can't see how any of these so-called dedicated large vehicle satnavs are going to deliver what the advertising blurb promises. I've tried two of them in the past and having tested them on known routes at home - they both got sent back because they chose ridiculous alternatives where no one in their right mind would contemplate taking a large vehicle.
My solution is to use a Tomtom which is Wifi enabled in conjunction with the Tomtom "MyDrive' App on my computer. I plan the route in 'My Drive' and then check any potentially dodgy bits on Google Maps Street View. I amend the route in 'MyDrive' as necessary.
I then save it to "My Routes" in the App and sync it to the satnav via Wifi. The satnav will then take me exactly down the route I have saved without any last minute detours or alterations.
It does take a bit of time beforehand to do all this - but it gives me complete peace of mind that I will be taken down what I have decided is a safe route.
Although I don't have a motorhome, our caravan is 8.1m long and 8' wide - towed by a 5.5m car - so it's a big rig!

ASFAIK no satnav can anticipate the width or suitability of the road ahead, all they can go by is any mandatory height/width/length/weight limit and re-route you if you have entered your vital statistics into the app.
There is no substitute for viewing the road on Google Street View or eyeballing it when you get there. If it looks too narrow or low it probably is.
