My carbon monoxide alarm is going off with no gas attached.
My carbon monoxide alarm is going off with no gas attached. I have tried 3 different alarms all go off. It appears to be only when the mains are connected. I plan to swap batteries . I can't think of anything els. Suggestions please.

We had this problem a number of years ago and it was the leisure battery. Disconnect it and when it’s cool enough, take it out. When it’s reached the end of its life, it gives off fumes that interfere with a carbon monoxide detector. Your alarm has probably saved your outfit from going on fire!

Can you replace the batteries on Carbon Monoxide detectors, I thought they were sealed?
Dust can also set them off. When we has building work done in our last house the dust kicked up in the loft set the alarm off.

So did I, @eribaMotters . I changed the one in the house a couple of years ago when it went on the blink. They're for either 5 years or 10 years for the slightly more expensive ones.

If you have tried 3 different CO alarms and they are still initiating,you need to check the caravan battery,a faulty battery will also give off a rotten eggs smell (sulphur) and will need removing ASAP.
Unplug mains and let it cool down first. Incidentally my CO went off recently,I ended up replacing it like for like from Toolstation or Screwfix,it even fitted the ceiling mounted bracket.
