What are the first three things you do once you've pitched up and set up at the campsite? Is it having a cuppa, going for a walk, exploring the campsite, or something totally unique?

Mine are:

Walk to the play park and/or the dog walk

Explore the surroundings

Put on the kettle

Depends where and when we arrive. On CLs arriving around 12:00 I walk take Flyte for a walk while OH gets lunch ready and books the kettle. If it is a club site arriving near 13:00, having had lunch an route, we both take Flyte while the van warms up, and on returning have a brew and check wifi signal.

Usually plugging into the mains so we can have a cup of tea! If it's hot we might forgo the tea in favour of a beer.

If attending a rally, accept a cuppa from a friend already set up, have a catch up and walk the dogs.

If on a site take dogs for a walk, have a cuppa or a beer then sit a relax.

I do the outside work setting up the caravan. My wife sorts out inside, doing any unpacking and sorting needed and then fills the kettle.

We usually arrive shortly after 1.00 pm so lunch is the first thing to prepare.

No fixed routine so a few remembered examples …. .Get changed and go for a swim (Camping Belle Roche), go and ask Sophie if she or Franck can cook for us tonight (camping Moulin de Mellet), go and see if the gardienne has turned up yet and drink her coffee and chat. (camping Robinson), go the bar and see if the big screen football international is on. (Camping Trologot).

For us it's normally a trip down to the local supermarket to buy something to eat for dinner. Then, if we are going to be staying longer and it's not yet dark outside, the next job after putting the awning up will be to set the satellite dish up and get the Wi-Fi connection to work. After all that and a 300 or so mile drive before arriving at the campsite I'll probably feel too knackered to do much else.

Relax with a drink, tea or alcoholic beverage. The choice depends on the kind of journey I have had!

@Fozzie surely that last sentence should end with "swings or roundabout?" ! !😁

@Fozzie my son likes to climb so he’s straight up any climbing frames. Fortunately now he’s older I don’t have to chase after him so much! 😂
