New Password

Am I correct that there was no warning of the new password requirement - I have tried without success to find a December magazine to check - I don't think I have received one! - and really, a need for 12 characters. I am well aware of the need for security, but for an area of the site where I keep no financial information - 12 characters really!!!
PS Can anyone supply the link to the online version - I can't find it on the site and my (newly updated) magazine app is not providing a December one (only November) - or have I missed that too and there is no December issue?

@JontyWild There was only one magazine of both November and December, some sort of experiment apparently.
With regard the forum password I think many of us were surprised for the need for such a long password? However this might not be down to the Club as the new forum is run by Vanilla Foundation software and the need for a long password is probably down to them? Most devices should have a facility to remember a password?

Not warning users about the 12 character requirement in advance is about par for the course from CAMC. However, once I had realised what was required I simply changed both my CT and website to the same password, one generated and saved by Google. @JontyWild as you say, for an area where I keep no really sensitive info I'm not that bothered.

As the January magazine was delivered today, I now know that there was no December mag'. Might have been helpful if they had put November/December on the cover as that would have saved me turning over various rooms looking for it. Still I presume they told is in October and I just missed it.

@JontyWild yes our January magazine arrived today and I noticed the number of magazines we get each year is being cut, seemingly due to postage costs although they do say that some editions will be larger than usual.

If as they at East Grinstead have said in the past that the magazine was self financing, then it would appear that there must be a lot fewer companies wiling to advertise with the club.

…..or is it additional security for the user's benefit?

It largely depends on how much personal info you reveal. In addition, a separate password takes away the auto link into your personal details held on the main website. It’s clear to me.

Is having a different longer password for the discussion forum - CT part of the site ( rather than the booking part of the website) really adding to the downhill slide?
Also CT is an optional extra, one doesn't have to use it but if you do then a longer password is needed, while the main booking part is more of a necessity if one wants to use online booking.
If it's a chore to have two have the same one for both. Actually I get into CT from the main part without having to retype the password.
I think it's quite good the two are now separate.
