Hi

I have a rambler 21/6  2017 and considering selling it and buying a motor home

my theory is sell it first to be in a better position to buy

are there dealers or sites that you could recommend to sell it

John

E bay, AutoTrader, We buy any caravan, a dealer, or part exchange for your new motorhome.

Check out your local dealers, search the internet, Auto Trader, CAMC classifieds, local press….. There are many options but it’s currently a buyers' market and selling may well be a disappointing experience. Consider p/ex for a simple resolution.

If you have purchased it new and had it serviced by the same dealer I would give them a try first. Not sure the used caravan market is particularly buoyant at the moment. It may also depend where you are buying your motorhome. If its from a dealer that also sells motorhomes there is perhaps a deal to be had there? You can, of course, try selling it privately via several online channels, it depends if you are happy getting involved in the selling process. A search online will give you an indication of price.

I am not in a rush to sell it’s just a holiday change

I did buy it new and have it regularly serviced

I think with the caravan show coming up and sales for last years show I think the dealers are all stocked up

Perhaps I will try later in the year any suggestions on a good month to sell

Possibly now is not a good time to sell as the market is quiet at this time. By March people will be looking to buy, so that might be better, but the market in general is suffering so how big a lift you might get is difficult to say.

Selling privately should get you the best price but bit has dangers and may involve a lot of hassle. Businesses are looking to make a profit so will need to offer less but it should be safer and easier.
