We are going to Spain for up to 4 weeks. I've read up on Pet Certificates, and it seems that we ha e to book a vet appointment before returning to the UK. Can anyone suggest a vet in the Santander ferry port area, that we could use please ?

Brittany Ferries has a list on line of vets near all their overseas ferry ports.

As a regular user of Brittany Ferries with my two dogs I tend to avoid using the "port" vets as from my own personal experience I find they are pretty expensive. Also it means one has to be at the "port area" for at least 24 hours before sailing for the passport stamp and the worming treatment to be valid and acceptable and they do - believe me - check.

We usually find a vet about 3 days away from the port (on our return journey) and get the treatment done then. If there is more than one vet in the area then call and ask for a price.

This means that a) You have a period of 5 days from the date and time of the vet visit in case of a sailing change or a breakdown. b) In most instances it saves you money and 3) you are not hanging around in Santander.

    Have good trip back
