I have just read on FB that Phil Rickman, the author of the Merrily Watkins series of supernaturally-themed mysteries, set around the Welsh Marches, the borderlands, as died quite suddenly.

RIP Phil, you will be very sadly missed  by your many followers.

    That is sad news. I always looked forward to his books. Not sure the TV adaptation did them real justice though. I always imagined Merrily more as a Dawn French vicar than Anna Maxwell Martin!

    @moulesy I think that they mucked up with the casting throughout, trying for political correctness and changing regional direction. It was no wonder that they only did the one book, and didn't even start at the beginning of the series. It didn't go down very well with very many members of PRAS (The Phil Rickman Appreciation Society) on FB.
