Dreadful news about Sir Chris Hoy. Such a lovely man. To be given such awful news and be positive about things is a testament to his character. He has a rotten road ahead in his forlorn fight with cancer.

So sad to also read that his wife has been diagnosed with MS. Doesn't seem fair at all.

All I can do is hope they have a good support base to lean on.

Made me cry WN😢 He is such a truly great man let alone sportsman. The family are just so brave, and what a legacy to leave their children. Been watching World Track Cycling Championships, and he is doing coverage on there, ironically looking so well. He’s a fighter, so can only hope he gets as much time as possible.

Yes, very sad. He’s one of my sporting heroes.

I agree with both of your sentiments. It just goes to show that no matter how fit or strong one has been one can still be affected by it.

it was a shock to hear the news this morning and then to hear of his wife's diagnosis, talk about kicking a man when he's down.

If anyone over 50 yrs. has someone in the family with this cancer , then now is the time to get tested.
