Are there plans to develop a new site in Bodmin?

Not heard anything, what have you heard? It seems notoriously difficult to get new sites off the ground these days. Of late the Club seems to be buying existing sites and then redeveloping if required?

I’ve heard nothing either and I’m not far away.

I can see nothing relevant in the planning register but searching is difficult without any hard facts to go by.

The C&CC site at Bodmin closed many years ago and houses, retail and industrial seems to be the way the town is going.

Will the A39 Camelford by pass ever be built? Will it wipe out the Camelford Club site? Will the Club look for an alternative location in the area? But I too know nothing.

I remember the Dobwalls bypass fiasco. That took forever.

Paul, But while you are waiting Camping Mena Farm at Lanivet - on the better edge of Bodmin is good. Reviews in all the usual places. Pitch Up scores it at 9.7 out of 10 and sites don’t go much higher than that.

A contact was looking to quote for some groundwork for, what he described as, a new Caravan Club site. The location is near the Crematorium close to where the A30 & A38 meet, Turfdown Road. Some work has been going on since April, if not earlier.

Thanks. I’ll have another dig around the planning applications.

It could even be a CL, I suppose🤷🏻‍♂️. Theres a CS nearby and a farmers field with a few vans in.

I’ve found it but it’s C&CC, not CAMC.

Interesting that the documents date from 2019/20

They used to have a site at Bodmin quite a while ago, perhaps that application was for a replacement site for that one?

That’s quite likely. The previous site close around 20 years ago and was fairly close to Asda so not all that far away from the new.

C&CC seem to have originally applied for the new planning permission way back in 2011 but appear to have shelved it for a few years.

Well done, I couldn’t find it. Wonder if it will be open 2025?
