Porch Awning

Do any of you know of any small porch awnings on sale that would literally just cover the door entrance into the van? We went away to France in the summer and whilst we took our main awning which was up for the main stay, on our transit north we stopped for two nights (with terrible rain/thunderstorms) and needed somewhere to take out footwear off/on. I've seen some stuff online but I think they might be too big and for their size I may as well put our main awning up. I just want something small and quick to erect/take down. Many thanks.

    If an awning literally covered just the door, it would be so narrow you’d not have room to turn around or to take your shoes off!

    We had a Sunncamp Swift porch awning - the bendy pole version, not the air. They come in different sizes and ours was small with just enough room for 2 chairs which gives you an idea of size. It packed up very small and stored out of the way under a bunk.

    We have the same one Tinny - a Swift 220.  Bought it for our last van (Barcelona) because it was the smallest one that would also cover the window by the door. Very light - quick and easy to erect and cheap! (£85 when we bought it). Only used it about 4 times, but handy to have around. We actually had a small table in ours and 4 of us sat round and were able to have a meal, although it was a bit cosy!! 

    Ideal for what the OP is describing.

    Thanks both for the response, yeah something around the size you're mentioning would be sufficient. I'll certainly look into it.

    We have the smallest Suncamp one and it's as above, just big enough for two chairs and a table. Ours is an air one, we did have a bendy pole one and on balance the air one is easier to put up. We use ours to store outside chairs and shoes/boots. Also good for when it's raining when getting into the caravan.

    They hadn’t invented the air version when we had our Sunncamp and we paid somewhere about the same as Richard did.

    If you just want somewhere to get out of the rain, then why not an Isabella Shadow sunshade. With just the two of us we have now got rid of our awnings and use this with a couple of end panels if needed to block out rain, wind or sun. If you pitch it with a V dip in the middle it is very effective at shedding water. This June we had a riverside pitch in the Loire. It rained so heavily that the river rose nearly 6 feet over 4 days, wind out awnings had to be wound in and several standard awnings had the roof collapse in. Our Isabella Shadow performed brilliantly with table and chairs stored under cover.
