Dogs on Site
It seems our Club is finding it difficult to balance the books. It appears to be fair as members have to pay for their children it would be fair to pay for their dogs. £2 per dog would not to be unreasonable in my opinion. What do other members think?

It’s been thrashed to death many, many times. The threads invariably become heated and end up being closed.
I'd not pursue it I were you but just bear in mind 3 points - young children go free, dogs bring numerous fee paying owners with them, CAMC has said it has no plans to charge for dogs.

I’d charge for teddy bears as well. Cats, rabbits, tortoises, parrots, Guinea pigs, hamsters, goldfish. Charge for them all, taking up space, breathing Club Site air…….

Could the OP give any evidence for the Club is finding it difficult to balance the books? That appears to be the basis of charging for dogs?
But that aside dogs do not come on club sites by themselves, their owners bring them. By charging for them these people might go elsewhere and lost income making balancing the books even worse?
Secondly isn't charging for something to do with getting something for that charge? What exactly would an owner get for that £2? Is it to cover extra heating or electric? Extra charges for the extra water the dog might consume? A doggy shower? Most (all?) sites have dog walks so no extra money is needed there?
Actually doggy showers are quite common on sites I've noticed although dogs have to share them with bikes so perhaps a charge for bikes?
And anyway isn't this doggist, what about a charge for cats and tortoises? Both of which I've seen a few times on club sites. And one goldfish as well actually. How often does one have to change the water?
So a no for me, and I don't have a dog.

The Community Manager has requested several times that the question of dogs are not discussed on the forum, the exception being to seek advice in the appropriate pet forum section. It is a very divisive subject that neither side of the debate will agree. My advice is that if you feel strongly about the issue that you contact the Club direct and make your views known.
