Renewing Membership
I am trying to decide if it is worth renewing my Membership, as I only use CLs nowadays, for the 1st 21 years of membership we only used Club Site and CLs , we like to use the van as much as possible, you never know how many years you have left to tour BUT with Club Sites becoming so expensive out of main season we can no longer afford to use them, with at least £ 750 a year loss to the club. I might be misreading renewals but the way I'm reading it ether you MUST agree to Auto Renewal ( WITHOUT EXTRA COST )or pay a extra £10 to rejoin on a yearly basses. I have managed to renew my membership for the last 25 years without forgetting, so WHY should I be made to have to set another auto payment, I DON'T DO AUTO payments. I just hope I'm reading it wrong, and MIGHT rejoin.

I'm not sure where you're looking SL but it's very clear:
Annual Direct Debit
£63 (per year)
No joining fee!✔ No joining fee
✔ Auto-renew each year
✔ Cancel auto-renew at no cost
Credit or Debit Card
£73 (1 year)
Includes joining fee✔ £10.00 joining fee
✔ 1 year membership without automatic renewal
I have to say, as I can recall, this hasn't changed for a while. And you're not being forced, or made, to do anything and it's your choice, but if you want to continue using CLs then there is only one way, well two I suppose, but why not set up a DD then cancel the auto renewal? If you don't want to do that then nothing more to be said, only you can decide if it's worth it or not.

If you are going to want to use CLs you must be a member. Not all CL owners check whether occupant of pitch is a member but we give our membership number whenever we make a booking, either by email or phone. There are other benefits that come with membership and we generally cover the cost of the membership during a normal year from them
As CS states you can cancel auto renew quite easily.

We have kept our Membership on almost exclusively for access to the Club’s CL network, and done it via an annual DD. We have always got our membership fee back via the special offers at places like Mountain Warehouse, Go outdoors, some of the attractions that you can access for 2 for 1 etc….
Get the cheaper joining price on DD, you always get a notification from the Club before it renews, and then you simply leave it to run, or cancel via your Bank. Only you can determine if you are getting your value for money out of being a member, but it’s easy either way, stay on, or cancel. There is no penalty if you have time away, you simply re join. There’s no benefit to being a long term member either, so it’s a straight make your mind up.

I cancelled my DD for auto renew many years before I left the club. The renewal notice used to arrive with the choice of reinstating the DD or making a one off payment without any extra charge. The £10 for non-auto renew is an initial joining fee only, not a renewal fee.

Hi TW, , That's where I get confused , I don't like Auto renewal , I've Always paid on a credit card to get my Tesco points , we then pay the full amount at the end of the month , but appears now If I don't set up a direct credit I have to pay £10 to rejoin so I can use my Card. I don't like Auto renewal or direct debit , we like to pay our way as we go , that's why I can say we have never been in dept . I agree I could set up a DD then cancel , but then you've got to keep checking your banking as we know folks on here have said the moneys have been taken after they have cancelled. I have had banking problems in the past that's why I'm against being made to do DD. I'm not being disruptive I just feel strongly about being made to Auto

Hi Sunlover, log in to website, tap membership, then tap renew on line.

Whether meant for CS or myself, SL, I would say that it appears you are currently a member and, therefore, you are renewing your membership, not rejoining. The £10 fee is applicable only to joiners who do not choose auto renew. You will not pay it.
Study your membership renewal again and look at the renew membership page on this website. You should have the option to make a one off payment to renew for one year using any card you like. This will not include the £10. If you are still in doubt, ring the membership department. I always used to find it a very straightforward process to renew each tear.
For the sake of interest/information, if you arrange a recurring payment from your bank account, cancelling it is a simple matter either online or in person. If the bank then makes further payments, they are liable to compensate you. Recurring payments from a credit card are not so simple to cancel.
Anyway, it appears you are seriously considering renewing your membership so it seems you have made your peace with CAMC.

It’s simple really. If you have never used DD for your membership, just do what you did last year. That one off joining fee hasn’t suddenly been introduced this year, so as I say, just do what you did last year. Annual DD is £63, rejoin for another year only only £63. No difference.
I’d hurry and make your mind up though, price might go up!😁
