Hi,

I am considering purchasing a Volvo XC 40 B4 Mild Hybrid, towing a single axle Lunar Clubman.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of towing with an XC 40, I would appreciate an opinion.

I have also looked at the XC 60 but prefer the XC 40 as a drive but wonder about the towing capability.

Many thanks

Nick

Hiya. My BiL has an XC 40 (almost new). He tows a Bailey Cabrera (single axle) with a MTPLM of 1600kgs. He seems quite happy with the stability/performance, his is the petrol model. Personally, I think it’s a bit borderline (ratio) when one looks at the numbers. If it were me, I’d be looking at the XC 60, much better ratio. Of course, your own caravans MTPLM has to be taken into account.

Thanks for the reply, appreciated,  yes its that borderline issue I am considering albeit my caravan is lighter than the Bailey.
