Booking System Problems

Is it me or has the system been changed?  Specifically if you indicate you are booking a motorhome in, it asks if you are towing. There is now the ability to define you are towing a car which I have not observed before when making previous bookings. Why this has been added is not clear but If you indicate you are towing a car and try to complete the booking you receive error messages and cannot complete the booking. The requirement to add a towed car seems unecessary unless for ANPR recognition but I could not get as far as adding a number plate if that was asked?

On completing a booking I was asked to complete a survey, I had to downrate my answers because of the above. I have reported this esperience in the survey. Anyone else having the same difficulty?

Not quite related to what you are saying but I noticed some website changes in the Pitch Type listing they mention metered electricity as an option if you scroll down. Probably a little premature but obvious coming. I was looking at Morn Hill so not one of the two sites we know will have metering.

Wouldn’t know, despite all my efforts, I still cannot get booking platform up on my IPad. Works ok on iPhone, same settings🤷‍♀️

I still have not figured this one out. Tried it again today with the same result. The only way I can progress a booking is not to declare I am towing a car. As no one else has replied perhaps all those that tow cars aren't members!

I understand from FB an post the Club has been seeking feedback from volunteers on alternatives to the UI to the booking system. Anyone on here provided this?

From memory this has been discussed before on here. I think the answer from the club was to ignore it and book without adding such details. Again it was on their to do list, and something like these maybe be needed in the future but not at present.

Good to hear you're booking a club site though PD.

Thanks, I had a rush of blood to the head and booked a non electric economy pitch at a price way over the odds.

Not really a problem I suppose, but somewhat annoying after almost 2 years of the new system. I have just made a booking and the final page that comes up with Thankyou for your payment, your booking is complete, your booking ref is, still shows Balance due by pay on arrival. This is despite having selected to pay the night before and the confirmation email confirming my card will be debited automatically.

Perhaps  they need a little longer to sort it out.😂

Never again though, especially as NEE pitches are not the best sited. I paid in full for the one night but cannot remember what the final screen came up with. It is the email confirming the booking I take note of.

I noticed that on Wyatts Covert site, when attempting to book,it came up with vacancies for Electric Hook up pitches, but if you click on the Metered Electric pitches these were showing all full.Prices showing for electric pitches were around £47.00.

This gave the impression that the metered pitches programme had been halted.

    I went somewhere else!

Not best sites on this club or all club sites?

I was refering to just the NEE pitches Never might be too strong a term for all seasons but certainly in peak season. There are only 26 sites offering NEEPs of which there may only be one such pitch on the site.

Certainly the ones I have used or seen have been poor and not value for money, not that I use facility sites for night stops very often. You do have to shop around but in my view, if you wanted to use a Club site, you can get better value by using Cadeside or Stover for a night stop rather than the NEEPs at Exeter

Going off topic now. No, it was not but I have stayed on Exeter's NEE pitches in the past.

I thought not as you mentioned your unnamed used site had SP and Exeter does not. I'm still wondering why you mentioned it now though after talking about your one stop at a club site?

But as you say off topic. Thanks for the reply PD.
