Elddis water leak

Hi me again, just been away in the van and noticed a water leak coming from the front sunroof window. Is this a d-i-y fix or not? Comments would be much appreciated.

    How old is the van and is it in warranty? Panoramic sunroofs have given much trouble.

    Hi Tinwheeler, thanks for the reply it is a Elddis Crusader Shamal 2014 caravan obviously not under warranty, at last service no damp issues found.

    Why is this a common problem?

    Is this a curved window on the front end of the roof or a flat roof heki type?

    In short, the panoramic sunroofs often fail. They can crack and the seals deteriorate. There are numerous threads on here concerning vans of different makes.

    Whether you can fix it yourself I guess depends largely on your own diy skills.

    Hi Viatorem, it is a curved window at the front end of the roof and the leak is only in the left hand corner of the window at the moment.

    I recommend you get that leak fixed asap.

    If you're certain it's not condensation there's a couple of ways that window can leak, check the rubber seal that runs around the perimeter of the window. It should be pressing against the window inner plastic. Sometimes the corners don't seal. It maybe possible to improve the sealing by slightly adjusting the window closing clamps. This sort of leak is worse after travelling in the rain.

    The other possible cause is the sealing between the roof and the window frame which is a reseal job.

    I was thinking that it may need resealing myself, could I do this myself?
