Hello, new owner and member. Apologies if this not the right place to post ( please signpost). Just bought a 2007 Motorhome.  The waste pipe isn’t draining.  I’ve blown through it and siphoned and it seemed ok, but the tap does not run water through. I don’t think there is much grey water there but there is some. I note just before the pipe reached the tap it has to run uphill, might that be our problem. Alternatively I’m thinking there may need to be more grey water in the tank to push it through. Any thoughts very welcome. Many thanks

I would suggest that you pour some sink waste cleaning gel down the waste pipes from all plug holes and then after the stipulated period follow it with boiling water and then, using a piece of pipe blow, as hard as you can, down the plug holes, and this may clear the blockage. Just stand well back if you have someone else doing the blowing!!😁

Yes, it could be a simple build up of sludge inside the waste pipes, particularly if it hasn’t been cleaned out for a while, and especially if the pipes are concertina type. You are right with the sags and kinks as well, might have an air block.

I don’t think it’s likely to be a major issue, just needs sorting. Top tip when you do get using your MH, use a wash up bowl for pot washing, and try to keep solid waste, greasy waste as much as possible from inside your waste water tank. It helps keep smells down, and makes routine cleaning (suggest after every outing) easier.  We only tend to have shower and hand wash water, plus tooth brush water in our waste tank, so it doesn’t pong. 😁

You do not say what make/model of motorhome you have.

We have an Autotrail Apache 634 which does have a problem with water draining from the sink, depending on how level we are parked.

The waste pipe goes over the fridge , through a cupboard and then down under the floor and into the tank.

If the cab end is low the drainage is poor, if the cab end is high things drain better.

I have tried cleaning out the pipes etc with no effect.

    Good luck !!
