Motorhome Parking in ParkingEye Carparks

Does anyone know if ParkingEye allow motorhomes to park in their retail car parks and if they do, have they any rules or restrictions (apart from the length of time which you can stay) about parking there, or does each of their car parks have different rules?  They don't appear to have a phone number and there is no mention of motorhomes on the website, so I don't want to chance receiving a parking ticket.

As they are a management company who tailor their offering to the client, I would think the rules might be different for each parking area. The rules will be displayed somewhere in the parking  area and that is what should be followed to avoid a penalty.

All the sign I have read in those sort of car parks specify the vehicle must be parked within the marked bay. Which unless there are larger ones, or ones where you can overhang a verge, is impossible with our MH. Although it does fit side to side (just) it overhangs into the bay behind. For that reason we avoid those supermarkets in retail parks when restocking and use ones with there own car parks, which generally don’t have such rigid conditions and are perhaps likely to be more tolerant as you are shopping in their store.

Be very careful. There are so many local car park rules.

For instance in West Devon council car parks there are limits to length of vehicle as well as width. So even if all four wheels fit inside the white lines you can be nicked for overhanging at front or back  - because the council there has imposed a 5 metre length of vehicle limit in their own car parks.

I do not envy anybody attempting to park a motorhome in retail areas. After 20 months I have only just noticed that "Camping Vehicles" are not permitted at the Okehampton in Devon car park that services two supermarkets. The information can only be gained in the small print at the pay machine and is not stated on entry to the site. As you can pay via a phone app and not need to go anywhere near the pay machine I'd expect the operator could be in breach of any parking guidelines.

My car has gone to be repaired after my accident so I was going to go in the M/H but took on board your comments and went on my bike instead! The car park in question is the Asda car park in Southport which was taken over in February and instead of paying to park and getting 2 hour free if you spend a fiver in Asda, you now get 2 hours free but have to pay if you are there over  2 hours.  However, there is nothing on the information board about vehicles larger than a car and to get any specific info, I think you have to download their APP, which I don't want to do.  Luckily, the other supermarket car parks in the Southport area don't  seem to have restrictions on larger vehicles, so I can use the M/H if I really need to, whilst my car is unavailable.

    Google 'Parking Eye Probems’.

Personally I would avoid parking a motorhome in any car park operated by them.
