Interesting Article about the C&CC
I was aware that the C&CC had lodges on some of their sites but I didn't know they also had static caravans. Apparently they have upped their charges for removal and re-siting statics when they reach 15 years of age which, to me , seems a bit young to have to replace something? The article is here https://www.theguardian.com/money/article/2024/may/11/lake-district-caravan-owners-price-rise Now the C&CC do offer an explanation and I am in no position to question their calculations. I know there are a few static owners on here so perhaps they can give an insight.

C&CC have had statics for quite a long time. Most are for owner occupation but a few are rented out for self catering at Alton and Cheddar.

I think it’s pretty usual. The pic is of vans for sale on a newly redeveloped site in Cornwall. Note the length of the licence.
Their much more expensive lodges have a 30 year licence.

They have lots of statics on several sites - see the links. To be clear, I only named the sites where the vans are rented out by C&CC or their franchisee.
Over the years we’ve watched the number of statics increase on the Scone site from just the few that were there when C&CC took over the site to the many they have now. No doubt that will further increase when the glamping tents go.

We spent the 'MayDay Week', up at Conkers C&CC site, with a group of friends. I noticed they had removed the 'glamping tents'. When I was speaking to one of the site staff, they said they had removed the 'glamping tents' from all C&CC sites and had no plans to replace them. Apparently, most of them had 'got to a certain age!! Perhaps we will see an increase in static caravan/ mobile home pitches??

Over the years we have been a fairly regular visitor to the C&CC Cambridge site and they had Glamping Tents. Can't say they ever looked over occupied? Be interesting to know what is most popular in the "Experience Freedom" portfolio of units. Personally I wouldn't hire any unit without its own bathroom!

We notice, while we were passing, that they had gone from their Milarrochy Bay site too, David.

Somewhat ironic that the Camping and Caravan Club have got rid of Glamping Tents but the Caravan and Motorhome Club continues with theirs?

Maybe with having them first the C&CC have found out that over the long term they are not cost effective, and have abandoned them in favour of something more profitable. Perhaps in the years to come the CC will come to the same conclusion?

As you say perhaps we will have to wait and see. Perhaps the growth in Glamping is leveling off? Trouble is, I suspect, very little information will be shared with the members as its outside of the usual Club Raison d'être as a touring organisation? I might be tempted to use the Pods with toilet facilities but sleeping in a tent is something I have never done and at 77 I suspect a bit late to join the party
