We are already into our 4th week of our Spring getaway. The May section of it will involve 3 CLs, 2 C&CC site, 2 of their THS and 1 Commercial site. Most of the sites will be ones we have used in the past although we have not been to these THSs before. We had preplanned all the sites well before the sudden appearance of the CC's discount, however had they been available when we booked they would not have tempted us to use any of the exorbitantly priced CC sites that were close to our chosen route.

Three of the family have chased off to Amsterdam at short notice for a long weekend. No caravan or motorhome as they have busy working lives in London so no time to use one and nowhere to keep one. But a one hour flight with KLM plus a central Amsterdam, historic, canal side boutique hotel was a vey fast choice.
Yesterday was Remembrance Day in Amsterdam and Jewish families recalling the horrors of Nazi occupation opened their houses to the public. And today is the celebration of Liberation Day - so the King and Queen will join the crowds at a big free concert tonight in Dam Square and i guess there will be fireworks later.Food wise the family says they have lasted the day on beer, chips, mayo and cannabis cakes from roadside stalls.
There’s a lot to be said for spontaneous travel.

Not away, too many BHs in May, and too much other stuff to do.
We had 3 weeks away in April and no more trips in caravan planned as yet, next holiday will be to Norway for a few weeks for my sister’s 80th birthday.
Might manage to fit in a week or 2 in caravan in August, and possibly September/October. Using it less now as the years pass.

I wish that we could get away, but this year is not the best of years and the weeks rush by with no respite. If/when we do - it will be a last minute booking probably at Englethwaite Hall. Quiet and peaceful and less than an hour away.
We did have a drive out last Saturday - to Courtyard Dairy near Settle. To buy cheese and have lunch. But only a few hours off work.

I'm off to ClubFest at the end of May. We are all very much looking forward to it.
Just a reminder, if anyone does want to take advantage of the 10% off Spring Getaways, this ends soon.

Off to Abbey Wood (London) this weekend. This will be our third visit and is ideally located for exploring the capital with the Elizabeth Line a 10 minute walk away. Just the 4 nights, which is enough considering the amount of walking involved. Nothing much planned as yet, but high on the list is a visit to the Tower Of London. Booked the site a good while ago, so it’s looking like we’ve struck lucky with the weather 🙂

Enjoy, its a really useful site for exploring London. I have not been since the Elizabeth Line opened but the last time we were there we caught the bus to Greenwich (the bus is marginally more convenient for easy access in Greenwich) We discovered the Thames Clippers that go right into Central London along the river. (I think they might be caller UBER boats now?
