Insurance !!!
Hello, I'm a 'newbee' first time owner of a motorhome.
I'm looking for guidance regarding motorhome insurance.
Can anybody point in the direction of any 'cheap' deals/offers ?
The quotes I've had so far are all around the £500 mark,(due to circumstances...3pts & small collision 2 yrs. ago).
I'll possibly be looking for further advice regarding 'all sorts' in the near future
Many thanks in advance..

Have you tried a comparison site e.g. comparethemarket.com. You will just have to shop around to find a deal that best suits you.

Don't forget you may not be eligible for the same level of ncd as on your car, so £500 may not be as bad as you think.

"Cheap" insurance isn't necessarily the most appropriate.
When we all bought our first motorhomes we all had to find what was most appropriate for ourselves - eg where we live, where the vehicle will be kept, the anticipated annual mileage, number of years NCD.
We used CCC for many years and more recently CAMC.
It is a case of checking what suits your needs. If you find that a number of quotes are all around the same price that should give an indication of what you will need to pay. So much depends on individual factors.
Hopefully, you'll enjoy the motorhoming experience for many years. Best wishes.

Another vote for Comfort Insurance..... my renewal this year was £530 of which £82 was for Euro breakdown cover....
Caravan Guard were slightly cheaper but breakdown was UK only so I didn't follow it up....
Of course despite your 'points', postcode, age & value of vehicle all play there part.

Based on experience, I no longer look for the cheapest insurance quote - but, rather, I look for reviews in respect of their reputation in settling claims. Not how good they are at accepting money or how easy the on-line experience was but how they look after their customers when they need some support. I have often found a vast difference between the two. I insure our cars with NFU and the caravan with CAMC - both far from the cheapest - but both excellent (in my experience) when it comes to settling claims.

Having dealt with insurance claims l my working life at various levels I would fully agree. Quite simply cheap is normally that and you can end up losing out badly if you end up with a claim. Like most things in life you normally get what you pay for, so I would always reject the cheapest quotes, in general they will not be worth the risk.
Looking at the reports on their claims service is a are better guide than the likes of Trust Pilot and Feefo which are good for many other things, but they are usually just a list of reports saying how easily the firms took their money and that applies to just about any firm. The sites I am afraid often misleading unless you look up the right reports.
I have a fair idea as to who to avoid but it would get me into trouble naming some of them.
