Same as all the other types of pitches. Off the ground, overseen at all times when lit with embers/ coals disposed of responsibly. Some serviced and pod pitches have them installed. There may be some sites, or areas of sites, where they are banned like Beechwood Grange.

As with all pitches, there aren't any. However in extremely dry conditions temporary restrictions might be introduced. That is so rare in this country that I am not sure how it affects gas BBQs compared to charcoal or those disposable ones. Generally all BBQs must be raised off the ground.

    From TW's link:-

    11. Barbecues

    a. Most campsites allow guests to use barbecues. If this is allowed, please make sure smoke and fumes are kept under control so as not to inconvenience fellow guests staying on site.

    b. Barbecues must be raised off the ground enough to reduce fire risk and avoid grass damage.

Hopefully when people have charcoal BBQ's they are mindful of their neighbours and how the smoke will impact on them especially given the direction of the wind. Not so nice on a hot summers day to have to shut down hatches and close windows to avoid ending up like a smoked kipperwink

Interesting that the super pitches and Pods have provision for a disposable BBQ when quite a few responsible retailers have stopped selling because of the potential danger of their use in unsuitable places?

     A good reply!

Rules for Club sites are clearly outlined on the website and in the handbook.

They are there for members' information.  Some members seem to be unaware of this. Perhaps they never look!
