Water inlet

Well - you might consider replacing it! Some sealing mastic and four screws might well do the job. If it’s a submerged pump than you’ll need to attach the power supply to your replacement. That’s two wires. If you reverse them then the pump will attempt to pump out, not in. That’s easily remedied. In short, rectification is simple, with little technical skill needed.

Changing the water socket on the outside of the van is a quick and simple job - I had to do it on our previous Barcelona whilst on site and it took less than 10 minutes. If you remove the old one very carefully, you will find the mastic gasket intact (hopefully!) so the new one just goes on top of it. While you're at it replace the submersible pump with a Whale High Flow (ensure it matches the new socket - ones with either Truma or Whale plugs are available) - much better output than a standard one.
