Forum Back
It was quite a shock when I clicked on the pinned tab I have on my desktop to see the Forum is back. No doubt we will learn more as time goes on. Now here is a strange little thing. The little CMC symbol, which shows on the tab, whilst the forum has been down, showed and incomplete icon but now that is also restored. I had to amend a booking whilst the site was down and it was dealt with very quickly. I asked the lady how they were coping and she said it was going OK but they had to have a new telephone system which they had to learn PDQ. I imagine it must have been quite a stressful time for the Call Centre Staff.

It is good to be back with you all.
Naturally as you expect of me I did some 'research' into these attacks and far more 'illustrious' companies and organizations than our club have been affected, Samsung, Southend on Sea and other councils, various law firms, hospitals, ...and many hundreds of UK, and thousand of global organizations, affected, including one with:
One observation on this; CTS appear from their website to be ISO 27001 certified.
As such this should serve as a sober reminder that whilst ISO certification does prove a business has mature cyber risk management processes in place, it is not a gold standard of impenetrability.I thought this quote was alarming for December 'nothing huge unless you count the world's largest UK based nuclear waste processing site'
