Bailey unicorn Seville blinds
Has anyone else had trouble closing the front blind on a 2023 Seville. When we try to close ours it goes wavy and you can’t get it to go right down.

I have exactly the same problem with my 2023 Vigo. I talked the other day to somebody with a Cartagena they do not open or close their front blinds because of this problem. 2 people I've met with Alicanto Grande, which has similar blinds, are also experiencing problems. I'm just in the process of writing a complaint to Bailey as the Blinds just do not work properly and it can take 10-15 minutes to open/close them.

The quality control at Bailey is appalling.
We bought a new Cadiz in 2022. It arrived with badly fitted panel which it took them 6 months to replace.
We returned it in Aug 2023 for its first service and a list of various items which needed rectifying under warranty. The major one being the front blinds.
We are told that Bailey have had to redesign the front blind as the ones fitted to 2022 caravans are not fir for purpose. They do not know when the redesigned blind will be available so the caravan is still with the dealer awaiting parts!!!
As I part paid with my credit card I have asked Visa to get involved and issued a section 75 as I am rejecting the caravan and want my money back.
Bailey are not interested in customers once they have your cash.
I don't understand why the Caravan Club does not have a campaign against the shoddy products that companies like Bailey produce. We all know that the quality of many uk caravan manufactures is poor but the Caravan Club does nothing to highlight this and work with members to get us all a better product.
Maybe the members are not as important as the manufactures advertising money!!!!

How true. The club must represent a significant % of the caravan and motorhome club members of the UK. It would not be unreasonable to expect it use it's voice for those members, warning of poor quality products and poor customer service.

There far too much finance coming in from the manufactures in advertising for the club and freebies for those at HO for them to rock the boat.

And remember who supplies the caravans for CAMC to use in the tow car of the year competition🙄

It's all far too cosy for anyone to consider rocking the boat....🤷🏻♂️

What a sad state of affairs. Dare I say we need a Jeremy Clarkson figure in the world of caravans and motorhomes.

G*d forbid NO!
There are much better persons about with an ability to get things sorted than that buffoon, Martin Lewis perhaps.

It was a relief to hear that other people are experiencing the same problems with Bailey Seville blinds. In fact we purchased a brand new van last year and discovered many faults all of which have been accepted as problems under warranty. We are still waiting to have them resolved due to parts not been available. There is no date for when the blinds can be replaced. The blinds are extremely difficult to put away and when it is hot weather it is impossible as they just sag and cannot be returned. I think Bailey are redesigning them, does anyone know any more about the situation?
Just to say we purchased a Bailey Seville brand new ten years ago and there were no problems with it. This time it has been a very different experience.

Bailey showed the new blinds at Octobers NEC show, and say that they will be fitted to new caravans from that date.
They are more robust (like the Unicorn 4) and now have fly screens. The flyscreen on the middle window only goes halfway up, but the standard screen comes down to meet it so you can still see out and have the window open.
No idea why Bailey ran with the original screens. One dealer at the show suggested it was an error by the Purchasing Dept, which I find hard to believe.
Anyone with an issue should go to the NEC show in February, stand toe to toe with the Directors and give them both barrells.

Thank you for this information which is very helpful. We have got tickets for the 16th February so will be able to talk to Bailey. We are hoping that the new blinds will be on display and available as we are planning to reject our caravan if it is not sorted by end of March as we do not want another season with this problem. Do you know if the blinds are reflectively coated on the exterior as ours offer little protection against the sun.

I cant tell you that. We have a Unicorn 4, and they seemed to be the same quality. Ive got a Unicorn 5 coming in March so I hope they are true to their word, but based on what I saw last October I was happy to order.
I would have a word with your dealer, although in my experience some really don't have a clue. We visited Bailys biggest dealer (according to them) and the 'salesman' concerned didnt know that the front lounge lights don't have usb ports in them, and was absolutely adamant that they do until I showed him. But then he'd only had the caravan on his forecourt for a year....makes you wonder if he'd ever been in it!

We purchased new our Unicorn 5 Vigo December 2022. Storing the caravan the same day we noticed the top-half of the large front blind had not been connected to the wires that enables the blind to raise and fall effectively. So much for the pre delivery inspection! We reported the defect immediately to the dealership (our 3rd new caravan we've purchased from them) who agreed a warranty claim to replace the blinds. We suggested a simple repair would work the response being "we don't do repairs" Ok so it was the winter months and we won't be using the caravan probably not til the spring of 2023 so maybe a few weeks to wait, I thought, isn't a massive deal. 15 months on no replacement blinds!! Loads of excuses along the way from the dealership and Bailey Aftercare who, ineffect told us not to contact them further its the dealerships problem. The dealership in turn blame Bailey for not having any stock, despite the fact they are continuing to build caravans with blinds! The latest is, they are now intending to replace the 2022 blinds with 2024 Hartel blinds with internal flyscreens, brilliant but when I asked when, er we haven't got a confirmed date as yet!!!! The dealership have refused any sort of good will gesture and suggested we contact Bailey over that. Anyone else got a Bailey Warrenty Claim lasting this long or am I just a bit nieve?

I returned my caravan to the dealer for the fitting of the new design front blind. The blind fell out of the tracks the first time I opened it. I cant believe how something like a blind could be such a bad design.
3 blinds in under 2 years and still no solution to the problem
I have now sold the van back to the dealer I have had enough of British caravans and the shoddy build, poor design and terrible attitude from the manufacturer.

We were at our local dealership and looked in 2024 bailey Vigo in the showroom and couldn't believe the poor quality of the front blinds and surround.
The surround was coming away as it is only held on by 3 velcro strips either side from what we could see, this in turn meant the whole blind system was out of line.
Maybe something people looking to buy should check, especially if this is the new design.
Certainly not what you would expect from a £30,000 van.

I have a Unicorn 5 Cabrera Oct 2022 model. I have recently had full replacement blinds fitted to the front under warranty. On the plus side I now have fly blinds and proper grip strips on leading edges to close them. But sadly the centre blind is see through on one edge and as it rinses to full opening in does not concertina but rucks up and has to be teased into fully opening. I have informed dealer and emailed Bailey and await a reply. Will keep you posted. Quite sad really as despite many negative comments I find the caravan and previous ones pretty well made.
